The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry engaged in discussions with the Canadian Consulate General in Dubai to explore new avenues for economic collaboration and elevate existing trade and investment relations to a strategic partnership level. The talks included institutional mechanisms aimed at supporting the business communities in both Sharjah and Canada, such as exchanging participation in exhibitions and proposing memorandums of understanding to enhance cooperation among private sector companies.
The meeting was hosted by Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber, and attended by Anthony Finch, Deputy Consul General and Chief Trade Commissioner at the Canadian Consulate in Dubai. Other attendees included Abdulaziz Al Shamsi, Assistant General Manager for Communications and Business, Dr. Fatima Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Director of International Relations at the Sharjah Chamber, and Jeanne Karunagaran Vijaya, Deputy Consul and Trade Commissioner.
The discussions highlighted the robust economic ties between the UAE and Canada while exploring strategies to enhance them through improved communication channels among economic stakeholders.
The Sharjah Chamber also emphasized the emirate’s ambitious strategy to attract quality investments in knowledge-driven sectors, alongside recognizing the significant contributions of Canadian companies operating within the local economy.
