UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended the Eid Al Adha prayer this morning at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by prominent members of the ruling family and government officials.
After the prayer, Sheikh Mohamed exchanged Eid greetings with fellow attendees and took part in a prayer for the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Sermon: ‘Our Eid is Devotion’
The Eid sermon was delivered by Dr. Khalifa Al Dhaheri, the Chancellor of Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities. Entitled ‘Our Eid is Devotion’, the sermon underscored the spiritual and national significance of dedication.
Dr. Al Dhaheri articulated that true devotion begins with sincere intentions and ethical actions, highlighting that the highest form of dedication is towards God. He noted that such devotion enhances spiritual bonds and fosters divine acceptance.
In addition, he stressed that devotion to one’s country is among the highest expressions of faith, vital for safeguarding the nation’s reputation, laws, heritage, and well-being. He emphasized that this principle also applies to familial and communal relationships, contributing to a unified and caring society.
Concluding the sermon, he encouraged worshippers to regard Eid as a time for affirming their commitment to faith, their country, and each other. He remarked that devotion earns acceptance in worship, fosters national loyalty, nurtures family bonds, and drives excellence in work.
After the prayer, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan interacted with worshippers and joined other sheikhs in reciting Surah Al-Fatihah for the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, praying for divine mercy and a place in Paradise.
Eid Greetings and Regional Connections
To mark the occasion of Eid Al Adha, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan shared a message on the social media platform X, extending his well-wishes to “the citizens and residents in the UAE, and Muslims worldwide.” He prayed for “enduring peace and harmony for everyone.”
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, also conveyed Eid greetings, celebrating “the Arab and Islamic nations on this blessed Eid Al Adha” and wishing for ongoing “blessings, goodness, prosperity, and peace.”
Moreover, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan shared Eid greetings through phone calls with:
