Sheikha Nasser Al-Nuaimi, the newly elected Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization for the term spanning 2026 to 2029, attended the “Viva Tech 2025” exhibition and forum, themed “New Frontiers of Innovation.” This major event saw extensive international participation from decision-makers, corporate leaders, and innovation pioneers from all over the globe.
During her visit to the UAE’s pavilion at the exhibition, she explored key projects and innovations showcased by small and medium-sized enterprises, particularly those in the tourism sector and its related activities. She expressed her admiration for the digital products and services developed by these companies and their vital role in providing new solutions that benefit the community.
In discussions with Emirati entrepreneurs at the exhibition, she emphasized the importance of localizing advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to enhance hotel services and tourism destinations in line with global best practices. She noted that technology has become a critical element in delivering outstanding tourism experiences, improving service quality for visitors, and strengthening the competitiveness of the tourism sector.
Additionally, she toured several booths of international companies participating in the exhibition, focusing on those involved in advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, and digital solutions. Here, she learned about the latest innovations and technologies that contribute to reshaping the future of the digital economy and smart tourism.
The “Viva Tech” exhibition stands as the largest tech event and startup exhibition in Europe, attracting notable international participation from decision-makers, corporate leaders, and innovators worldwide. This year’s event welcomed approximately 165,000 visitors, over 13,500 startups, 3,500 exhibitors, and 3,200 investors, making it a unique platform for accelerating innovation, sharing ideas, and forging strategic partnerships.
