The General Women’s Union, in collaboration with the Chinese NGO Network for International Exchanges and with the support of the UAE Embassy in the People’s Republic of China, organized a forum for Emirati-Chinese businesswomen under the theme “Connecting Hearts Through the Silk Road.”
This event is part of an official visit by a delegation of the union to China and is aligned with the activities of the Emirati-Chinese Businesswomen’s Council.
The forum saw the participation of distinguished female leaders, entrepreneurs, and representatives from economic institutions.
Liu Yong, Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese NGO Network for International Exchanges, emphasized the importance of developing communication channels between institutions.
He highlighted the role of shared platforms in supporting collaboration, especially in the area of women’s empowerment in the workplace.
He also discussed the significance of the Chinese NGO Network as a leading national economic organization since its establishment in 1979, pointing out its contributions to business development and institutional innovation.
Moreover, the organization has an active presence on international platforms, participating in the International Labour Organization, which has 187 member states, and is a member of the Business Owners Council consisting of 112 members.
It also belongs to the International Organization of Employers, encompassing over 150 organizations across more than 140 countries, and has been partaking in the G20 Business Summit (B20) since 2020.
Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary General of the General Women’s Union, stated that the forum serves as a platform to enhance communication and expand cooperation in the economy and entrepreneurship between both parties.
She mentioned that the event reflects the union’s efforts to enhance the work of the Emirati-Chinese Businesswomen’s Council.
Furthermore, she noted that under the guidance of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates,” who is the President of the General Women’s Union and the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, the union continues to support initiatives that empower women.
This support spreads its impact globally and reinforces women’s presence in vital sectors, demonstrating their role as active partners in the development journey.
Additionally, Counselor Amina Al Hamadi, Deputy Ambassador of the UAE to China, stressed the importance of such forums in facilitating communication between institutions and enhancing cooperation opportunities across various sectors.
