During a recent interview with Fox News, UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan detailed his country’s strategic approach towards Gaza, outlining essential steps for the region’s future.
He stated, “The priority is to secure the release of hostages, establish calm in Gaza, and create a governance structure that excludes Hamas. We are here to assist in providing citizens with viable options.”
Reflecting on his conversations with high-ranking officials from the Palestinian Authority, Abdullah bin Zayed remarked, “There is a palpable sense of frustration regarding the current circumstances. They seek an end to the conflict. Their future role will depend on the involvement or intervention of the US and Israel, but it is ultimately the Palestinians who will govern the area.”
The foreign minister emphasized the UAE’s significant humanitarian efforts, stating, “The UAE has contributed over 42% of the total international aid to Gaza during this conflict over the past two years. Without the Abraham Accords between the UAE and Israel, facilitated by former President Trump, our ability to deliver such support would have been severely limited.”
In other news, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared that the nation plans to invest $1.4 trillion in the United States over the next ten years. This announcement was made during Donald Trump’s visit to the UAE after discussions in Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
President Trump responded positively, committing to strengthen relations with Abu Dhabi and unveiling deals worth over $200 billion. The two nations also agreed to enhance their collaboration in artificial intelligence. Following the meeting, the White House announced additional agreements valued at $14.5 billion, including a deal in which UAE’s Etihad Airways will acquire 28 Boeing 787 and 777X aircraft with engines provided by GE Aerospace.
