UAE President receives delegation of charities

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, chaired a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, reported by the UAE Presidential Press Office on X. The meeting summed up the past year. President Sheikh Mohamed described the UAE’s philanthropic vision as a “defining pillar” of national identity after receiving a high-level delegation of charities on the eve of Zayed Humanitarian Day.

The Foundation’s total expenditure amounted to 2.2 billion UAE dirhams during the previous year across relief, health, education and community sectors. The number of beneficiaries reached 149 million people in 118 countries around the world. During the event, he met with the humanitarian team, which numbers 975 people. More than 170,000 volunteers also support initiatives across all of the Foundation’s programs. The UAE President vowed that humanitarian work would continue and that the UAE’s hand is extended to all peoples.

Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation

Launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in May 2007, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) has spearheaded and implemented innovative programs aimed at establishing Dubai and the UAE as a hub for knowledge and research.

MBRF aims to empower future generations and enable them to develop sustainable solutions to facilitate knowledge and research in the Arab world. The Foundation strives to create knowledge-based societies across the region by funding research projects, activities and initiatives. It nurtures ideas and innovation, focusing on its core pillars of education, entrepreneurship, research and development.

Erth Zayed Philanthropies

On Monday, the UAE leader welcomed members of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, an organization that Sheikh Mohamed established last year to lead global humanitarian efforts, at Qasr Al Batin in Abu Dhabi, along with members of its affiliated groups and more than 90 donors from the public and private sectors. Sheikh Mohamed praised their crucial contributions to advancing the nation’s humanitarian mission in the Emirates and abroad.

He said Erth Zayed Philanthropies upholds the spirit of philanthropy espoused by the UAE’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and supports his goal of improving the lives of billions of people around the world. The organization, headed by Sheikh Teab bin Mohamed, Head of the Development and Martyrs’ Families Affairs Office at the Presidential Court and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, works to coordinate charitable activities in key sectors, including global health, education, economic empowerment, sustainable agriculture, food security, and the environment.
