Union Trains Operate 100 Freight Trips Over 9 Days, Transporting 459,000 Tons of Goods

The Union Railway Company, a subsidiary of the Union Railways, is actively continuing its regular freight operations across the national railway network. This initiative highlights the growing importance of railways in facilitating trade and enhancing the resilience of supply chains within the country.

The railway network provides reliable connections between key industrial zones, ports, and logistics centers, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of goods.

Recently, Union Railways reported successfully operating over 100 freight trips within a span of nine days, during which more than 459,000 tons of goods and over 7,900 containers were transported. This underscores the effectiveness of the national network and its capability to support commercial activities under various conditions.

To further increase the capacity of the network, the company has allocated trains specifically for Fujairah and the Al Ghail dry port in Ras Al Khaimah, additionally launching five extra trips to cater to the rising demand for freight services.

Moreover, Union Railways is working on establishing additional corridors within the network and reallocating multi-modal capacity toward the eastern coast ports, thus expediting cargo transportation and enhancing integration among different transport modes.
