The Dubai Economy and Tourism Department, in collaboration with Dubai Industrial City, a leading hub for key manufacturing and logistics firms in the region, has organized an educational workshop aimed at empowering manufacturers to continue their global expansion plans, boost exports, adopt the latest technological innovations, and embrace sustainable energy solutions.
For over 20 years, Dubai Industrial City, one of the ten specialized business parks under the TECOM Group, has played a crucial role in the manufacturing sector of both Dubai and the UAE. The workshop, part of the “Dubai Industrial City Dialogues” series, featured prominent industry leaders and stakeholders, reaffirming the commitment of this industrial hub to the objectives of Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33, which focuses on priorities such as enhancing export growth, improving productivity and competitiveness in manufacturing, and attracting global companies to Dubai.
Speaking on behalf of Dubai Industrial City, Saud Abu Shawareb, the executive vice president of the TECOM Group’s industrial sector, emphasized that the visionary leadership in Dubai and the UAE has established strong foundations for the national industrial sector. He highlighted the pivotal role of Dubai Industrial City in fostering constructive collaboration between the public and private sectors to support economic diversification efforts.
He stated, “Our growing community of leading global and regional manufacturing companies continues to attract foreign direct investments to Dubai and the UAE, contributing to solidifying the ‘Made in UAE’ brand and facilitating its global reach. We at Dubai Industrial City are steadfast in our commitment to empowering companies to leverage their capabilities to achieve the goals of the ‘300 Billion Project,’ the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ initiative, and Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33.”
This workshop provided a distinguished platform for networking and knowledge exchange, enhancing the dialogue aimed at promoting economic diversification and sustainable industrial development through close and productive cooperation between the public and private sectors.
The agenda included educational sessions on Dubai’s export support program and energy-friendly initiatives, in addition to discussions on enhancing national value and supporting the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Participants also had the opportunity to connect with representatives from the Dubai Economy and Tourism Department to explore how to leverage such programs and tailor them to their own needs aligned with their objectives and aspirations.
It’s noteworthy that the TECOM Group launched Dubai Industrial City in 2004 to strategically influence the future of manufacturing and logistics industries in the region. The city hosts over 1,100 clients from prominent global and regional manufacturing companies, with more than 350 operational factories, thereby enhancing its pivotal role in the global supply chain and ongoing efforts to enable industrial firms to access international and regional markets.
Dubai Industrial City’s strategic location, close to Jebel Ali Port, Al Maktoum International Airport, and the Union Railways freight station, along with major road networks, facilitates access to a broad consumer market from the heart of Dubai, a leading global destination for trade and tourism, only 8 hours by air from two-thirds of the world’s population.
Dubai Industrial City is among the ten specialized business parks within the TECOM Group, which also includes Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City, Dubai Production City, Dubai Knowledge Park, Dubai Academic City, Dubai Design District, and Dubai Science Park.
