15 Emiratis Graduate from Leadership Programs by Dubai Ports World and Schneider Electric

Fifteen young Emirati graduates have completed leadership programs launched by Schneider Electric and DP World. A ceremony was held recently to honor these graduates, showcasing the commitment of both companies to nurture local talent and prepare the national workforce for the future job market.

The graduation event, hosted at Schneider Electric’s new office in Dubai known as “The Nest,” recognized nine university students from the “Future Sustainability Leaders” program and six exemplary employees from the “Experience Exchange Program.”

The Future Sustainability Leaders program provided Emirati university students with a hybrid educational experience lasting five months. Topics covered included “Carbon Reduction,” “Energy Management,” and “Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence.”

Participants engaged in virtual sessions led by experts from Schneider Electric, complemented by a one-month practical internship at DP World and Schneider Electric, equipping them with essential skills for future careers in the fields of technology and sustainability.

Simultaneously, the Experience Exchange Program allowed six employees from Schneider Electric and DP World to immerse themselves in each other’s workplaces for two weeks, featuring professional mentoring by industry leaders, site visits, and hands-on projects.

This initiative fostered knowledge sharing, strengthened collaboration between the two organizations, and enhanced participants’ capabilities in making sustainability-driven decisions while embracing innovative business models.

Abdullah bin Dumithan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World, GCC, stated: “These programs exemplify what can be achieved when the ambitions of young Emirati talent align with strong partnerships.”

He added, “Investing in human capital is at the core of our sustainability strategy. With over half of the UAE’s population under the age of thirty, we have one of the youngest talent pools globally, ready to drive the transition towards more sustainable trade and supply chains.”

Amaal Al Shadhli, Head of Schneider Electric for the Gulf region, commented: “This milestone reflects our shared commitment to advancing sustainability and technological excellence in the UAE, alongside nurturing national talent and enhancing their capabilities in vital future-oriented fields. These young individuals are poised to take on their rightful roles in leading the country’s innovation economy and bolstering the UAE’s prominence in sustainability and technology.”
