The Federal Tax Authority has announced that it conducted 85 tax awareness events in the first half of the current year, benefiting 28,000 participants. This is a significant increase compared to 70 events held during the same period in 2024, reflecting a growth of over 21%. The enhancement of awareness workshops aims to close knowledge gaps in tax-related areas.
The authority reaffirmed its commitment to developing and diversifying its campaigns and communication channels to reach all stakeholders involved in tax implementation. This includes fostering communication with participants and beneficiaries across the Emirates, while also introducing and expanding services that are continuously evolving. In the previous year and the current period, various innovative campaigns, programs, and activities have been launched to meet the tax knowledge requirements of businesses and the Emirati community.
In a press release yesterday, the Federal Tax Authority revealed that 53 remote events were executed in the first six months of the year, compared to 43 remote events in the same timeframe of 2024. Additionally, 24 in-person events were carried out, down from 27 in-person events during the first half of 2024.
The authority also emphasized its ongoing plans to contribute to the objectives of the second phase of the Government Bureaucracy Zero Program, as well as to expand digital integration with relevant entities to sustainably enhance the digital experience for users. The continued focus remains on serving the community and providing further facilities to support businesses and ensure customer satisfaction.
The awareness events, including customer councils held by the authority across all Emirates, are designed to facilitate meetings and consultations with representatives from various business sectors. This aims to gather their feedback and suggestions regarding the authority’s initiatives and projects related to reducing bureaucracy. The goal is to eliminate unnecessary tax procedures and repeated requirements, while also enhancing government integration and data sharing.
Zahra Al-Dahmani, Director of Taxpayer Services at the Federal Tax Authority, stated: “In its continuous effort to diversify its communication channels and tools according to evolving requirements, there is a strong emphasis on engaging business sectors for their ideas and suggestions in the sustainable development plans of the authority. This aims to maintain high levels of efficiency, quality, and flexibility, while simplifying and reducing procedures.”
She continued: “The authority has consistently launched new awareness campaigns and programs to inform users about its initiatives and services. Furthermore, it has continued to execute and expand essential awareness activities. Key initiatives that have recently been introduced include the ‘Tax Science’ events, benefiting 72 participants through three workshops. Two additional workshops on ‘Tax Certificates’ were held, engaging 1,330 participants. Moreover, six workshops focused on the ‘Emirates Tax’ digital tax service platform were conducted, involving 2,044 participants, and two workshops on ‘Tax Updates’ attracted 1,824 attendees.”
In conclusion, she stated: “The authority remains dedicated to highlighting the ongoing development efforts aimed at continuously improving the legislative and procedural tax environment, while also informing the public about its various projects aimed at advancing digital services through effective transformation procedures. This includes minimizing paper usage and reducing the number of required documents wherever possible, among other service facilitation measures, to achieve tangible impacts in short time frames.”
