Agreement Between “Shiraa” and “Startup Middle East” to Strengthen Collaboration in Entrepreneurship

The Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa) has signed a memorandum of understanding with “Startup Middle East” to enhance collaboration between the startup ecosystems of the UAE and India. This partnership aims to expand market access opportunities and connect entrepreneurs with global platforms, fostering joint innovation.

The agreement was signed by Sarah Al Hif Al Neyami, the CEO of Sheraa, and Sibi Sudhakaran, the CEO of “Startup Middle East,” in the presence of Anoop Ambika, the CEO of “Kerala Startup Mission,” alongside various officials and representatives from Indian startups.

This memorandum outlines a strategic roadmap for collaboration, linking Indian entrepreneurs with Sharjah’s innovation ecosystem and opening new avenues for growth and expansion.

As part of the partnership, a “India Startup Center – Sharjah Branch” will be established, designed to connect Indian entrepreneurs with the business environment in Sharjah and bolster their presence in regional and global markets.

Sheraa continues to expand its network of collaboration with governmental entities and programs in India to enhance its strategic initiatives such as “Sheraa Investment Harbor,” Sharjah Startup Studio (S3), and the “Sharjah Gateway Challenge.” These partnerships signify Sheraa’s role as a key driver of entrepreneurship, providing its startups with greater opportunities to access new markets and strengthen their global presence.

The collaboration also entails participation in major events within India’s startup ecosystem, including “Hadel Global,” “Startup Mahakumbh,” “Scale Up in the Emirates,” and “Indian Startup Summit 2025.”

Sarah Al Hif Al Neyami remarked that collaboration is a foundational element of Sheraa’s mission to create a globally interconnected startup ecosystem. The memorandum with “Startup Middle East” opens new channels for Indian entrepreneurs to engage with Sharjah’s innovation landscape, offering our startups promising opportunities for expansion in one of the world’s most vibrant markets. Together, we are establishing a lively innovation ecosystem that facilitates growth, impact, and prosperity.

Sibi Sudhakaran expressed appreciation for Sheraa’s vision and support in turning this initiative into reality, making the center a platform that connects innovators in India with the flourishing entrepreneurial environment of Sharjah.
