Dubai Customs has been awarded the title of “Customs Authority of the Year 2025” at the Middle East Transport and Logistics Awards (TLME), receiving the highest votes from professionals and experts in the customs and logistics sector through an electronic voting system. This achievement highlights its commitment to excellence, leadership, and innovation, contributing to the ambitious national vision.
Currently, Dubai Customs stands as a global benchmark in the implementation of the latest digital transformation systems, processing approximately 99.7% of its customs transactions digitally. This significant advancement has expedited procedures, reduced customs clearance times, and facilitated trade operations with smoothness and transparency, in line with Dubai’s vision and its competitive status as a strategic hub in global trade. Additionally, the authority has developed an advanced security system capable of detecting and preventing smuggling and customs manipulation, enhancing the protection of the community and the national economy.
Dr. Abdullah Boushnad, Director General of Dubai Customs, stated that this achievement adds to the authority’s impressive record, which recently included winning the best pioneering initiative award for the cross-border e-commerce initiative as part of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Program for Government Services. The authority continues to advance Dubai’s position as a leading global center for international trade and logistics services, supporting the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and driving future transformations in the global trade sector through innovation and the development of customs services that leverage advanced technology and artificial intelligence.
Engineer Adel Al Suwaidi, Director of Customs Valuation at Dubai Customs, received the award during the ceremony, stating: “The authority has made significant strides in automating customs procedures and reducing the time required to complete transactions, while developing services that are among the first of their kind globally. The ‘Integrated Inspection’ project initiated by the authority represents a qualitative leap in customs operations, transferring inspection procedures into an integrated system at companies’ warehouses, which has reduced inspection time by over 50%.”
