Dubai Silicon Oasis has announced the opening of registrations for the third cohort of the “Dubai MIT DesignX” accelerator program, organized in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Global Growth Hub. The program is set to commence on October 20 and will run until January 28, 2026, in Dubai Silicon Oasis, a specialized economic zone dedicated to knowledge and innovation under the jurisdiction of Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZA).
### Program Goals
The third cohort aims to select 12 innovative teams to develop sustainable solutions addressing urgent urban challenges across five critical sectors: real estate, design, architecture, transportation and logistics, sustainability, and health. This initiative will enable participating teams to create comprehensive solutions for smart and resilient cities.
### Previous Successes
The launch of this cohort follows the successes from the previous ones. The first cohort’s team, “Authalu,” secured a $200,000 investment for their pioneering technology that tackles the plastic waste crisis by repurposing it into housing for some of the world’s most underprivileged communities. Meanwhile, the second cohort’s team, “theion,” emerged as the champion after achieving significant advancements in crystal and lithium-sulfur battery technology, winning 100,000 dirhams in funding and securing a year-long business incubation at the Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Centre (DTEC).
