Federal Tax Authority Hosts Retreat on Eliminating Digital Bureaucracy

The executive team for innovation at the Federal Tax Authority, in partnership with the “Government 01” platform, held an innovative retreat focusing on eliminating digital bureaucracy within the tax system.

This initiative aligns with the Authority’s strategy to support the objectives of the second phase of the governmental bureaucracy elimination program and aims to enhance digital integration with relevant entities, ultimately improving services for businesses and enhancing customer satisfaction.

During the retreat, current procedures were analyzed, and discussions were held on ways to eliminate unnecessary processes, thereby increasing governmental efficiency and providing smoother services to ease tax and financial procedures for individuals and companies. This supports the Authority’s ongoing efforts to enhance tax services.

Khaled Al Bustani, Director General of the Federal Tax Authority, stated that this retreat is part of the Authority’s initiatives to expedite the implementation of the “Elimination of Government Bureaucracy” program launched by the leadership to simplify people’s lives and achieve a qualitative leap in governmental processes and transactions, creating an environment conducive to business and attracting talent.

During the opening of the retreat held at the Authority’s headquarters in Dubai, he remarked, “Since the launch of the Government Bureaucracy Elimination program in 2023, the Authority has intensified its efforts to deliver effective solutions to simplify tax services.

The elimination of unnecessary procedures and requirements is essential for the continuous improvement of service efficiency and quality, contributing to a future-oriented approach in governmental operations. These efforts were recognized when the Federal Tax Authority won the Government Bureaucracy Elimination Award in its inaugural round, specifically for its impact on the business sector.”

Additionally, Abdullah Al Bustaki, Executive Director of the Information Technology Sector at the Federal Tax Authority and head of the Government Bureaucracy Elimination program team, emphasized the significance of the digital bureaucracy elimination retreat. This initiative is part of the Authority’s second phase of the program launched this year, which aims to achieve 100% elimination of digital bureaucracy, modernize and develop all digital systems, effectively adopt artificial intelligence, and continue eliminating unnecessary procedures and services.
