In the wake of discussions between Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a formal exchange of signed agreements took place, according to Azernews.
One of the primary agreements includes a partnership with Masdar aimed at the development of continuous energy supply projects with a capacity of up to 500 MW, alongside energy storage capabilities of up to 2 GW. This initiative represents a crucial advancement in Kazakhstan’s shift towards green energy and its long-term sustainability ambitions.
The two parties also reached consensus on enhancing cooperation in several key sectors, such as motor transport, judicial systems, and the digital modernization of the oil and gas industry. An important component of the agreement is the plan to establish a supercomputer cluster in Kazakhstan, anticipated to foster innovation in high-performance computing, scientific research, and data analysis throughout Central Asia.
Furthermore, investment agreements were signed to promote the development of Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana and its surrounding areas. This effort seeks to bolster Kazakhstan’s position as a central transit and logistics hub within the region.
Additionally, both sides expressed a shared interest in expanding their merchant fleet and undertaking extensive infrastructure projects across various regions in Kazakhstan, enhancing economic connectivity and fostering regional development.
In a historic move for Kazakhstan-UAE relations, the nations agreed to investigate the application of a supercomputer for climate modeling and big data analysis within the energy and transportation sectors. This highlights a transition towards not just economic collaboration but also a forward-thinking partnership in scientific and technological initiatives.
