UAE Hosts “BRICS Youth Dialogue” in Brazil

In a significant step toward empowering youth and enabling their active role, the United Arab Emirates has introduced its pioneering “Youth Dialogue” initiative in Brazil for the first time. This took place during its participation in the BRICS Summit.

The UAE, in collaboration with the “Museum of Tomorrow” located in Rio de Janeiro, hosted a constructive dialogue with BRICS youth, featuring participation from 40 university students representing four universities. The discussions emphasized future aspirations and tackled issues surrounding international cooperation, sustainability, and the essential role of young people in shaping the global agenda and guiding its pathways.

The session was led by His Excellency Saeed Al-Hajri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Trade Affairs and UAE Sherpa to BRICS, alongside His Excellency Saleh Al-Suwaidi, the UAE Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil.

During the event, His Excellency Saeed Al-Hajri remarked: “This dialogue embodies the UAE’s firm belief that multilateral cooperation must encompass the ideas and aspirations of the next generation. We do not view youth merely as future leaders; we see them as active partners in creating the solutions we desperately need today. Brazil is a vital partner for the UAE within BRICS and on the global stage. We believe that sustainable partnerships are not built only on commercial and diplomatic foundations but also on trust, communication, and shared aspirations, starting with an open dialogue such as the one we are having today.”

He further added: “It is no coincidence that for over ten years, the majority of Arab youth have chosen the UAE as the best country to live in according to the ‘Arab Youth Survey,’ which clearly reflects the security and safety that the country offers, along with the promising opportunities and horizons in an environment filled with optimism and ambition—values we strive to instill. Through these partnerships, we aim to extend this vision of opportunities to all members of BRICS.”
