The Third Edition of the “Baybet” Hackathon and “Dubai for Goods” Returns with Prizes Worth $140,000

Bybit, the second-largest cryptocurrency trading platform globally by trading volume, in collaboration with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, has announced the launch of the third edition of the international hackathon for Web 3.0 technologies. This year’s event is themed “Web 3.0 Unleashed” and offers a total prize pool of $140,000.

Building on the success of previous editions, the 2025 hackathon introduces two new tracks: the Decentralized Finance with Artificial Intelligence (DeFAI) track, which aims to forge robust connections between decentralized finance and AI technologies, and the Decentralized Science (DeSci) track, focusing on fostering innovation in decentralized research and science.

These new tracks complement existing categories that include decentralized finance, Web 3.0 gaming, social finance, infrastructure, and tokenization, ensuring the hackathon keeps pace with the most promising opportunities in the Web 3.0 sector.

Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO of Bybit, remarked, “We are excited to bring back the ‘Web 3 Unleashed’ hackathon for its third edition in partnership with our trusted collaborator, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre. This competition has demonstrated impressive growth in recent years and has become one of the most attractive platforms for innovators eager to launch their brilliant ideas in the Web 3.0 realm.”

This year’s focus on decentralized finance, AI-enhanced decentralized finance, Web 3.0 gaming, decentralized science, social finance, infrastructure, and tokenization underlines the depth of the ecosystem we are collaboratively building,” Zhou added.

Five outstanding projects have already won prizes totaling $160,000. Ahmed bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, stated, “Forecasts suggest that the Web 3.0 technology market will reach $40 billion by 2030.

Given these figures, the question is no longer whether decentralized technologies will radically transform global systems but rather who will lead this transformation. With over 3,400 technology companies in our free zone, including 700 focused on cryptocurrencies and more than 110 in AI, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre is building an ecosystem that nurtures upcoming innovations and empowers creators to unleash their creativity. Through ‘Web 3 Unleashed’, we are solidifying Dubai’s position as a launchpad for widespread Web 3.0 innovations.”

The hackathon will continue accepting registrations until October 5, 2025. After a remote evaluation round, five shortlisted teams will be invited to present live in Dubai on November 26, 2025.
