Boeing has recently announced the appointment of Fahad Al-Muhairi as the Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa, starting in January. This decision underscores the global company’s confidence in the capabilities of Emirati professionals and their increasing role in leading the aviation sectors within the region.
Al-Muhairi is recognized as a prominent executive in the UAE, boasting over 20 years of diverse experience across the aerospace, defense, energy, and advanced manufacturing sectors. His background also includes significant governmental and consulting roles in strategic national and regional initiatives.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University, obtained in 2002, which laid the foundation for his career. Al-Muhairi began in engineering and technical roles before advancing to senior leadership positions in major organizations.
His notable positions within the defense and aerospace sectors include serving as the General Manager and Deputy General Manager at Raytheon Emirates. He also acted as a consultant for space projects at the UAE Space Agency and briefly held the role of Acting Executive Director for the space sector, contributing significantly to national space programs and international partnerships in this area.
Additionally, he served as the Executive Director for Business Development at Emirates Defense Industries Company (EDIC), where he played a critical role in forming strategic partnerships and enhancing defense industrial capabilities. His experience extends to the civil and technical sectors, where he held the position of Acting CEO at Data Mapping Services and occupied several executive roles in real estate and management, including CEO of Commercial Affairs at Manazel Real Estate and COO at Manazel Specialists.
In his new role, Al-Muhairi will be based in Dubai, overseeing Boeing’s operations in the region. He will lead the company’s strategic initiatives and work to deepen partnerships with governments, industrial organizations, and airlines, aligning with the national visions for the development of the aviation and space sectors and supporting long-term investments in infrastructure and R&D.
Al-Muhairi’s appointment is expected to enhance Boeing’s presence in the Middle East and North Africa, driving innovation and sustainable growth, leveraging his extensive leadership experience and keen understanding of the region’s market dynamics and strategic needs.
