Thani Al-Zeyoudi: The UAE Strengthens Economic and Investment Cooperation with Africa

Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the Minister of Foreign Trade, emphasized that the United Arab Emirates serves as a key link between African capitals and global markets. He noted that the UAE is the largest development partner and a major source of foreign direct investment in Africa.

This statement came during a meeting with Amadou Dian, the ambassador and head of the Forum for Economic Operators to Promote the African Economy (FOGECA), where the Minister received the final report from the international forum aimed at enhancing the African economy along with its concluding recommendations.

He praised the outcomes of the recent international forum hosted in Dubai and highlighted the importance of FOGECA in fostering economic and investment cooperation between the UAE and the African continent. He reaffirmed that the UAE acts as the gateway for Africa to access global markets and underlined the country’s commitment to strengthening economic and trade relations with African nations.

Genuine Interest

Ambassador Amadou Dian conveyed to a local publication that the UAE enjoys strong economic and trade ties with various African countries, indicating a genuine desire to assist the nations of the continent.

Regarding his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Trade, Ambassador Dian mentioned that they discussed various topics, including the official delivery of the forum’s report, a responsibility he holds as the head of FOGECA. He noted that this visit reflects a commitment to transparency, ongoing institutional work, and the deepening of discussions initiated during the forum.

He added that he presented the strategic vision of FOGECA during their meeting, along with its role in facilitating and enhancing economic relations between the UAE and African nations. He highlighted promising investment opportunities for Emirati entrepreneurs and investors, as well as strategic projects in Africa within a secure and organized framework, promoting mutual benefits for African stakeholders.

Ambassador Dian expressed his gratitude to the UAE for its excellent organization of the FOGECA’s activities in Dubai over three days, noting the involvement of numerous ministers and officials in the events. He extended his heartfelt appreciation to Minister Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi for his presence and support of the forum, stating that his participation added significant institutional and strategic value to the events.
