Gartner Predicts $2.5 Trillion Spending on Artificial Intelligence by 2026

Data analytics firm Gartner has projected a significant increase in global spending on artificial intelligence (AI), forecasting a 44% rise to reach $2.52 trillion this year. This surge is primarily driven by rising investments in servers and software.

John-David Lovelock, Vice President of Analytics at Gartner, emphasized that the pace of AI adoption will largely depend on the readiness of both human capital and regulatory processes, rather than solely on financial investment.

The firm anticipates that spending on enhanced servers will climb by 49% in the current year, accounting for approximately 17% of total global AI expenditures, with investments in new technology infrastructure expected to reach $1.36 trillion.

Moreover, global expenditure on AI software is set to increase to $452 billion, with projections indicating it will rise to $636.1 billion next year.
