Sharjah Airport Free Zone Welcomes Expansion of Japanese “GrabTree”

The Japanese company “Grape Tree,” which specializes in nutrition and confectionery, announced its expansion plans in the Sharjah International Airport free zone. In 2024, they will enhance their storage and operational capabilities by launching a new warehouse spanning 4,500 square feet. This initiative aims to meet the increasing demand for their products and broaden their export reach to Gulf Cooperation Council and Middle Eastern markets, using Sharjah as a strategic distribution hub.

The new warehouse was inaugurated by Saud Salem Al Mazrouei, Director of the Sharjah International Airport Free Zone Authority, and Masayasu Moto, Chairman of “Grape Tree,” along with several officials from the authority. They toured the new facility to review the state-of-the-art technologies and equipment being utilized for storage and distribution, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring product quality throughout the supply chain.

“Grape Tree” serves as the regional arm of “Bodonomori,” which was founded in 1982 in Kanazawa, Japan, and rebranded from “Bodunoki” in 2025.

The confectionery and food sector in the UAE and the Gulf region is experiencing continuous growth, fueled by consumer interest in premium and innovative products. The food market in the UAE is projected to reach a value of 146 billion dirhams this year, with an expected annual growth rate of 5.3% from 2025 to 2030, according to a recent report by Statista Research and Data.
