Flydubai has announced the launch of new flights to Nairobi International Airport in Kenya, set to begin on October 15, 2025. The flights will operate from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport, with a schedule of four flights per week.
This expansion allows Flydubai to strengthen its presence in East Africa by adding service to the Kenyan capital starting from mid-October 2025. Alongside this new route to Nairobi, the airline will also increase its flights to Mombasa, with a daily service starting on October 1, 2025, bringing the total number of weekly flights to Kenya to 11.
Commenting on this development, Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of Flydubai, stated, “Kenya is an important market for Flydubai, and we are excited to enhance our services with the addition of Nairobi and the increase in flights to Mombasa. This route underscores our commitment to connect Kenya with the global aviation hub in Dubai, boosting trade, travel, and tourism opportunities between our two countries. We remain dedicated to supporting strong economic and cultural ties between the UAE and Africa.”
Flydubai has steadily expanded its footprint in Africa, linking Dubai to key markets in the region. With the introduction of Nairobi flights, the airline now serves 12 destinations across eight African countries, including Alexandria, Addis Ababa, Alamein (seasonal), Asmara, Cairo, Dar es Salaam, Djibouti, Entebbe, Hargeisa, Mombasa, and Zanzibar. These routes facilitate smoother connections for travelers and contribute to the flow of business and tourism between the Emirates and East Africa.
Sudheer Sreedharan, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations (UAE, GCC, Africa, and the Indian Subcontinent) at Flydubai, remarked, “We are pleased to see our operations in Kenya grow with the launch of flights to Nairobi and the daily service to Mombasa, which began with four weekly flights in 2024. Our expanded services provide more convenient options for customers from the UAE and across our network to access Kenya, whether for business, leisure, or visiting friends and family. We sincerely thank the Kenyan authorities and our partners for their support in facilitating this new service.”
Nairobi is a vibrant city recognized as the economic, cultural, and political center of East Africa, boasting a thriving business environment, lively markets, and a diverse cultural scene.
