The Abu Dhabi Customs Authority has partnered with Altana Technologies, an American leader in AI-driven supply chain monitoring and analysis solutions, by signing a memorandum of collaboration. This agreement aims to explore and develop next-generation trade solutions that enhance the resilience, security, and sustainability of global supply chains through the application of AI technologies.
The signing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, and Amina Ben Za’al Al-Muhairi, Consul General of the UAE in New York. The memorandum was signed by Rashid Lahij Al Mansouri, Director General of Abu Dhabi Customs, and Ivan Smith, CEO of Altana Technologies, during the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum in New York.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to exploring collaborative initiatives and innovative solutions to enhance Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global trade hub, while assisting Altana in establishing reliable and comprehensive digital trade networks worldwide.
Altana Technologies’ platform facilitates trusted data sharing and provides advanced analytics that aid companies and governments in managing risks, enhancing compliance, and supporting the resilience and sustainability of supply chains.
Rashid Lahij Al Mansouri stated that “this collaboration aligns with Abu Dhabi’s strategy to strengthen its status as a leading global center for trade and logistics,” emphasizing that “embracing innovation and digital transformation in customs operations enhances competitiveness, reduces risks, and supports smoother trade flow in a more reliable and sustainable manner.”
Meanwhile, Ivan Smith expressed his pride in partnering with Abu Dhabi Customs to develop reliable trade networks powered by AI, noting that this collaboration represents a significant step towards building supply chains that are more resilient, transparent, and sustainable, benefiting economies and communities around the world.
