Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the Minister of Economy and Tourism, took part in an event hosted by the Embassy of the UAE in France to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Emirati company Madori Space and the French company Avalanche.
This agreement aims to promote collaboration in developing space data centers and leveraging advanced technology to support innovation, as well as to expedite joint projects in the space sector. The event was also attended by Fahad Saeed Al Raqbani, the UAE Ambassador to France, Dr. Sharif Al Remeithi, the CEO of Madori Space, along with a selection of officials.
Minister Abdullah bin Touq emphasized that the UAE, owing to the vision and support from its wise leadership, continues to solidify its global position as a significant contributor to the development of the space economy and the enhancement of innovation and research related to space-related economic and investment activities.
He noted that the partnership between the UAE and France in the space sector is a strong and strategic collaboration, marked by ongoing and long-term cooperation between the relevant agencies and institutions of both nations. The two sides are working to expand their shared ambitions in space technology, enhance their capacities to tackle climate change challenges, monitor the Earth, and develop sovereign space capabilities. The space sector serves as a vital engine for development in line with the UAE’s vision for the future.
The country plans to establish and develop a Space Economic Cluster as part of its national policy for economic clusters, which will enhance its global competitiveness, attract quality investments, and support innovation in this field. This initiative will further establish the UAE as a global hub for the space economy in the region and the world.
