Abu Dhabi Ports Group has announced a strategic partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), which serves as the UN’s implementation arm for sustainable development. The aim of this collaboration is to accelerate innovation in the realms of digital trade, smart logistics, and responsible automation of port operations across the Middle East, North Africa, and global markets.
This partnership will merge Abu Dhabi Ports Group’s advanced expertise in digitization, smart port infrastructure, and AI-supported logistics with the UNDP’s global mandate in governance, policies, and inclusive development. The cooperation seeks to enhance resilient trade systems and support the achievement of the UN’s sustainable development goals.
Through this agreement, both parties plan to strengthen collaboration in various mutually beneficial areas, including the development of scalable digital platforms that promote transparency, efficiency, and integration among trade and logistics systems. Additionally, they will leverage AI technologies to transform supply chain management, facilitate business financing, streamline customs clearance procedures, and support the adoption of automation and IoT solutions in port operations to improve resilience, safety, and sustainability. The agreement also entails conducting research and case studies, establishing outlook systems for accelerating sustainable innovation, and organizing high-level conferences and forums to highlight the role of digitization and AI in shaping the future of global trade.
