The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) hosted an event focused on streamlining civil aviation services, titled “A Journey to the Future: Artificial Intelligence and Bureaucracy Reduction in Aviation Services,” at Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University in Dubai, attended by Director General Saif Al Suwaidi.
The event highlighted key efforts and initiatives aimed at reducing bureaucracy within the civil aviation sector, showcasing projects implemented by the GCAA, including the launch of the agency’s AI strategy and the presentation of its sustainable system for bureaucratic reduction.
In his address, Saif Al Suwaidi reported that the program’s first phase led to the accomplishment of 52 bureaucratic reductions, the streamlining of 496 procedures, the elimination of over 90 requirements, and the removal of 82 documents. This resulted in saving approximately 32,000 work hours and reducing around 4 million kilograms of carbon emissions in 2024, with goals set for even better results in 2025.
