Air Arabia, the first and largest low-cost airline in the Middle East and North Africa, has launched daily direct flights between Sharjah and Munich, marking Munich as its first German destination served directly from Sharjah International Airport.
The new service operates using modern Airbus A320neo aircraft, designed to enhance passenger comfort during their journey.
An inaugural flight reception was held upon its arrival at Munich Airport, attended by officials from Air Arabia and Munich International Airport management.
Adel Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, stated: “We are delighted to commence our direct flights to Munich from Sharjah, which is a significant addition that strengthens our growing presence in Europe.”
Munich serves as a vital cultural and economic hub, and we are pleased to provide direct travel services to our clients. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to expanding key destinations for our passengers and offering additional travel options with added value.”
Oliver Dirsche, Vice President of Munich Airport, commented: “We are excited to welcome Air Arabia with the launch of its new route between Munich and Sharjah, which adds value to the Munich International Airport’s destination network and enhances travel options for passengers. Furthermore, the airport plays a crucial role in facilitating direct air travel between the Gulf and Europe.”
Munich is part of Air Arabia’s strategic expansion plans in Europe, originating from the United Arab Emirates, which currently includes key destinations such as Vienna, Athens, Milan Bergamo, Krakow, and Warsaw Chopin, with Warsaw Modlin and Prague to be added soon.
The Air Arabia fleet consists of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, which are the latest in single-aisle models, providing additional comfort with more space between seats compared to typical economy cabins.
The aircraft are equipped with a complimentary in-flight streaming service named “SkyTime,” allowing passengers to access a wide range of movies and entertainment directly on their devices.
Passengers can also enjoy a variety of delicious dishes and snacks from the “SkyCafe” menu available on board and benefit from “AirRewards,” the region’s most generous loyalty program.
