40% Growth in Women-Led Projects in Ajman Over Three Years

The Ajman Businesswomen Council has established itself as a leading institutional platform since its inception in 2005 under the Ajman Chamber of Commerce. Its primary mission is to empower women economically and promote their role as active partners in the overall development of the emirate.

Over nearly two decades, the council has evolved into a sustainable model supporting women’s entrepreneurship and creating quality opportunities that contribute to the diversification of the local economy.

Dr. Amina Khalifa Al Ali, President of the Ajman Businesswomen Council and a board member of the Ajman Chamber, emphasized that the council’s journey reflects a comprehensive path of growth and development. It commenced with a clear vision aimed at empowering women and assisting them in launching their businesses through a comprehensive system of initiatives, services, and supportive tools, reinforcing women’s presence as genuine partners in economic development.

Today, the council boasts over 800 registered women and business leaders, with female-owned enterprises experiencing a 40% growth over the past three years. This growth is indicative of the increased confidence women have in the entrepreneurial environment provided by the council and the effectiveness of its programs in encouraging women to enter various economic sectors.

The council has continued to expand its activities, having organized more than 20 economic exhibitions and 30 specialized forums for businesswomen, in addition to signing 16 cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding with local, Gulf, and international entities. These efforts aim to enhance partnerships and open new avenues for growth and expansion for women entrepreneurs.

Al Ali highlighted that the council’s success stems from sustainable operations and diverse initiatives focusing on capacity building through targeted training and consultations. It also emphasizes widening partnership channels and creating a nurturing environment that enables women to launch their projects with confidence and sustainability, aligning with the emirate’s economic and social directions.

The council’s new identity, “Masa’a,” signifies a more dynamic and innovative phase, focusing on integration and achieving tangible results in line with Ajman’s Vision 2030. This aligns with the state’s initiatives for the Year of Community 2025 and the Year of Family 2026, supporting competitiveness and innovative entrepreneurship.

The council actively participates in Gulf exhibitions and forums, with an annual agenda that facilitates member engagement with regional and global markets, fostering strategic partnerships.

It also highlighted its participation in “Biban 2025” in Saudi Arabia and the seventh Gulf Businesswomen’s Forum in Qatar, focusing on entrepreneurship, sustainable investment, and the digital economy.

Looking ahead, particularly in 2026, the council plans to launch specialized programs for empowering women in industry and production while continuing to provide supportive initiatives and services, with an emphasis on socially impactful entrepreneurship.

Dr. Amina Al Ali concluded by stating that the future of the Ajman Businesswomen Council holds promising opportunities. It will continue to cement its role as a sustainable economic enabler for women, enhancing the competitiveness of their projects and establishing the council as a pioneering model for women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship at both national and regional levels.
