The Sharjah Economic Development Department has received certification for compliance with the global quality standard ISO 44001:2017 (Collaborative Working Relationship Management), aimed at enhancing the quality of its institutional services and updating performance standards. This is achieved through the application of global best practices to strengthen partnerships with federal and local government entities and various business sectors on both local and international levels.
This success follows a thorough audit process that confirmed the department’s adherence to established procedures and operations, along with a study of documents ensuring compliance with the collaborative working relationship management system requirements outlined by the standards. The department fully met the criteria for the management system that aligns with the mentioned standard.
Institutional Excellence
Hamid Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, the Head of the Economic Development Department and a member of the Executive Council of Sharjah, stated that achieving global accreditation for ISO standards in the management of collaborative working relationships highlights the department’s commitment to enhancing its various economic operations. This accomplishment is part of the ongoing pursuit of institutional excellence and significant achievements within the department. It reflects the drive to adopt leading global management practices and build strong, fruitful partnerships across all fields while fostering mutual coordination with all stakeholders. Abdulaziz Omar Al Mufeed, the Director of Government Communication at the department, expressed pride in the sustained efforts of the Government Communication team in developing the partnerships management system according to the highest international standards, which played a substantial role in obtaining the ISO certification.
Dr. Ahmed Ali Al Ali, Deputy Director of Strategic Planning and Performance, remarked that successfully passing the formal audit for the Collaborative Working Relationship Management certificate aids in identifying the department’s organizational needs for measuring its performance. It also enhances various cooperative relationships and accelerates the development processes for the collaborative work system.
