Dubai International Airport has been ranked second in the world, recognized for offering an exceptional transit experience among elite global airports, according to a study conducted by TripSIM, which analyzed 50 of the busiest international airports worldwide.
The study highlights that Dubai International Airport excels in shopping and comfort, providing extensive retail options and amenities such as shower facilities and on-site hotels, making it an ideal stopover location for travelers during lengthy layovers.
The airport features health clubs with swimming pools and fitness centers, an arcade, peaceful gardens for relaxation, sleep pods, and designated play areas for children, ensuring a comprehensive experience for all types of travelers.
The analysis was based on six key criteria: dining options and cafes, retail stores, entertainment facilities, shower and hotel services within the airport, connectivity and technology services, as well as relaxation and comfort zones.
Travel expert Arber Abdullah commented, “Previously, transit was viewed as an unavoidable aspect of travel; today, people genuinely notice whether an airport makes those hours easier or more challenging. Good food, fast internet, and a quiet space to sit or rest can completely transform the travel experience.”
