Dubai and Abu Dhabi Ranked as the Safest Destinations for Solo Travelers Worldwide

Dubai and Abu Dhabi have been recognized as the top cities for solo travelers in terms of safety for the year 2025, according to an annual study conducted by travel experts at a leading travel company. This research evaluates cities based on the “Numbeo Crime Index,” which utilizes comprehensive data to estimate the overall crime levels in various urban areas.

Abu Dhabi secured the first position globally, followed closely by Dubai in second place, establishing the UAE as a leader in global safety rankings for solo travelers. Abu Dhabi achieved a safety score of 92 points during daylight and 87 points at night, making it the safest city in the study for those traveling alone. The report praised Abu Dhabi for its serene atmosphere, strong security presence, and safe environment during late-night hours.

Dubai ranked second with scores of 91 points in the daytime and 83 points at night. Its low crime rate, 24/7 lifestyle, and well-lit public spaces empower solo visitors to confidently explore areas such as Dubai Marina, beach nightlife, and shopping districts.

The five safest cities in the world for both daytime and nighttime are Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Chiang Mai in Thailand, Muscat, and Queenstown in New Zealand. This study comes at a time when solo travel is on the rise, with 76% of Generation Z and Millennials indicating plans to travel alone this year. Safety remains the primary concern for solo travelers, followed by affordability, ease of transportation, and the welcoming nature of the destination.
