Etihad Airways Transports 22.4 Million Passengers in 2025

Etihad Airways transported 22.4 million passengers in 2025, marking a 21% year-on-year increase, driven by sustained demand and growth in its capacity across its expanding global network.

The airline confirmed in a statement that the seat occupancy rate for the last year reached approximately 88.3%, which is a two percentage point increase from 2024, demonstrating strong commercial performance throughout the year. The company closed 2025 on a high note, transporting 2.2 million passengers in December alone, representing a 28% rise compared to December 2024.

December’s seat occupancy rate was 87.6%, maintaining high usage levels during the peak travel season at the end of the year.

By the end of the year, Etihad Airways had a fleet of 127 aircraft, having added 29 planes throughout 2025, marking the largest annual expansion in the company’s history.

According to the statement, Etihad’s growth in 2025 accounted for about 40% of the overall passenger growth in the UAE, based on the projected increase in air traffic across the country, reflecting the airline’s crucial role in supporting Abu Dhabi’s tourism and economic ambitions.

High Performance Levels

António Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, stated that 2025 was a remarkable year of growth for the airline, which transported over 22 million passengers, the highest annual figure in its history, while maintaining high seat occupancy rates and outstanding operational performance throughout the year.

He added that concluding the year with record numbers in December reflects the confidence that customers have in the airline’s products and services. With a fleet of 127 aircraft—the largest in its history—Etihad Airways is better positioned than ever to bring more visitors to Abu Dhabi and provide exceptional travel experiences to its guests through its rapidly expanding global network.
