Ras Al Khaimah Airport Achieves a Major Milestone by Surpassing One Million Passengers in 2025

Ras Al Khaimah International Airport has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the one million passenger mark last year, recording a total of 1,303,000 travelers. This represents a notable increase compared to the previous year, highlighting the airport’s rapid growth and solidifying its position as a promising regional hub for air transport. The airport has also expanded its flight network considerably, with the number of scheduled international flights rising to 16 global destinations.

In terms of operational performance, the airport noted impressive growth compared to the previous year, marked by a 14% increase in destinations, a 51% rise in the number of travelers, and a 37% boost in flight numbers, reflecting the ongoing expansion of air connectivity. All planned strategic projects have been successfully completed, resulting in a 29.4% improvement in net profits, thus enhancing the airport’s capacity for sustainable growth and high-quality service delivery.

Operational Readiness

Engineer Sheikh Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, stated that exceeding one million passengers underscores the success of the airport’s operational and developmental strategy. It confirms the ongoing commitment to enhancing infrastructure efficiency, operational readiness, and security, as well as to providing a comprehensive travel experience for passengers in line with the best global practices and standards. He added that by 2025, a comprehensive development initiative was completed, including improvements to passenger facilities, upgrades to monitoring and operational systems, and the expansion of air connectivity to support tourism and commercial activities in the emirate, emphasizing that all projects were successfully concluded to ensure that the airport is equipped to meet future growth demands.

Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi affirmed that these accomplishments are the result of the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, who has prioritized the aviation sector as a strategic part of the emirate’s comprehensive development. He also highlighted the diligent follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah and Chairman of the Executive Council, which contributed to creating an environment conducive to innovation, enhancing institutional performance, and enabling the airport to achieve significant milestones that reinforce its position as a regional air transport hub and support the tourism, commercial, and economic sectors in the emirate.

Strategic Initiatives

The Ras Al Khaimah Civil Aviation Authority played a vital role in supporting airport growth in 2025 through the implementation of several innovative initiatives. Key among these was the launch of the Drone Management System (DMS) as an innovative platform, alongside strategic partnerships with civil aviation authorities in Dubai and Fujairah, and the organization of awareness workshops for stakeholders, clients, and the community, supplemented by social media awareness campaigns. Other initiatives included the operation of an airport alert system, management of aircraft movement and decommissioning, activation of airport dashboards, and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs), with all planned objectives successfully achieved. Additionally, the authority renewed its international ISO certifications in areas such as environmental management, innovation, business continuity, and quality with no recorded observations or violations.
