Global South Utilities, a subsidiary of Resources Investment and key partner for the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026, has announced a strategic industrial partnership with China’s Weiheing, a global manufacturer of battery energy storage systems. This collaboration aims to promote local manufacturing of advanced clean energy technologies in Abu Dhabi, assisting the UAE in its industrial development and energy sector transformation, while enhancing supply chains targeted at the Global South markets.
This partnership showcases a shared ambition to go beyond mere local market sufficiency and establish Abu Dhabi as a manufacturing and export hub for emerging markets.
Under this alliance, Global South Utilities will serve as the regional platform for market access, project integration, and later stage execution by linking Weiheing’s battery energy storage technologies to utility-scale projects, as well as commercial and industrial initiatives in Africa and Asia.
The collaboration combines Global South Utilities’ expertise in developing and deploying clean energy infrastructure in emerging markets with Weiheing’s technical capabilities in designing, manufacturing, and integrating battery energy storage systems.
Weiheing’s systems enable energy users in both industrial and commercial sectors to enhance energy consumption efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve electricity supply reliability, aligning with Global South Utilities’ focus on providing practical and scalable clean energy solutions for markets in the Global South.
