Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Zayed Inaugurates the “UMEX” and “SIMTEX” 2026 Exhibitions

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs and Chairman of the Council for Intelligent Autonomous Systems, inaugurated the seventh edition of the Unmanned Systems Exhibition “UMEX” and the Simulation and Training Exhibition “SIMTEX.” The events will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) until January 22.

During his visit, His Highness toured various booths from both national and international companies, as well as governmental and private organizations participating in this year’s edition, showcasing the latest technological advancements in robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles, intelligent control systems, and advanced applications of simulation and artificial intelligence.

Throughout his tour of the exhibition, His Highness reviewed the cutting-edge solutions and advanced technologies that reflect rapid transformations in the fields of unmanned systems, simulation, and training. He emphasized their crucial role in enhancing the readiness of civil, commercial, and defense sectors to meet future demands.

Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that the adoption of advanced technological solutions in priority sectors is a strategic approach to anticipating the future and elevating the readiness of the national economy to align with the requirements of precision industries. This initiative supports long-term sustainable development.

Accompanying His Highness at the exhibition’s opening were Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan; His Excellency Faisal Abdulaziz Al-Banai, Advisor to the President for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology; His Excellency Mohammed bin Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defense Affairs; and His Excellency Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.

The ADNEC group organizes the “UMEX” and “SIMTEX” exhibitions in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense and the Defense Tawazun Council, with support from the Council for Intelligent Autonomous Systems. The event features a strategic partnership with EDGE Group and collaboration with the Integrated Transport Center, showcasing the latest innovative solutions and advanced technologies in unmanned systems, simulation and training, artificial intelligence, and technological applications across civilian, commercial, and defense sectors.

The exhibition includes live demonstrations and interactive experiences featuring unmanned systems on land, sea, and air, alongside specialized platforms to support startups. Additionally, it hosts discussion sessions and dialogues to exchange ideas and enhance global conversations on the ecosystem of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and governance of future technologies. This reinforces the role of “UMEX” and “SIMTEX” as a global platform to foster the growth of the unmanned systems industry.

This year’s “UMEX” and “SIMTEX” exhibitions feature participation from over 375 leading local and international companies, along with a distinguished group of experts, decision-makers, and industry leaders from 38 countries worldwide. They aim to exchange knowledge and expertise across various civil sectors, including smart agriculture, healthcare, logistics, smart cities, sustainable energy, and infrastructure development, as well as military and defense applications such as surveillance and reconnaissance systems, defense support, unmanned vehicles, and advanced logistics systems.
