The government of the United Arab Emirates, in collaboration with the World Economic Forum, has launched the “Global Strategic Intelligence Program” during the 56th World Economic Forum meetings in Davos, Switzerland. This initiative aims to empower governments and organizations to transition to more proactive and resilient models for anticipating global changes, thereby accelerating strategic decision-making and enhancing their readiness to effectively address rapid transformations.
During the forum, a cooperation and partnership document was signed to commence the implementation of the program. The signing event was attended by Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and member of the World Economic Forum Board, Borg Brende, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum, Larry Fink, Chairman of BlackRock and temporary co-chair of the World Economic Forum Board, along with other dignitaries. The document was signed by Huda Al Hashemi, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategy, and Maroun Kairouz, Managing Director at the World Economic Forum.
The “Global Strategic Intelligence Program” aims to establish the use of strategic intelligence as a key tool for interpreting global future trends and identifying opportunities and risks to develop more proactive and ready strategies through artificial intelligence and technological solutions.
This program represents a trailblazing international initiative that reflects an advanced approach to enhancing the role of strategic intelligence in future foresight and decision-making. It will facilitate several initiatives, including organizing a global forum for strategic intelligence in the UAE, establishing the world’s first strategic intelligence alliance, launching strategic intelligence accelerators, and creating a strategic intelligence academy.
Huda Al Hashemi emphasized that the launch of the Global Strategic Intelligence Program is a significant development that enhances international collaboration and accelerates the shift towards an advanced anticipatory approach. It illustrates the UAE’s impactful presence in international forums and embodies its proactive vision in enabling governments worldwide to develop advanced future models capable of early detection of global changes, converting data and knowledge into precise, swift, and actionable strategic decisions, thus boosting government readiness.
She also stated that the Global Strategic Intelligence Program is a valuable contribution from the UAE government to support the innovation and development of future models, reflecting its shared vision with the forum to bolster international cooperation in enabling governments to adopt a proactive approach to future foresight.
Stefan Marngethle, Managing Director at the World Economic Forum, noted that this collaboration highlights the importance of incorporating strategic intelligence and foresight into the core of government decision-making processes. He expressed the forum’s commitment to deepening the partnership by advancing the development of a global strategic intelligence program that supports policymakers in tackling challenges, seizing opportunities, and enhancing governance.
