Kerno Enterprises, a leading manufacturer of enterprise IT equipment in the UAE, hosted an exclusive invitation-only tour of its upcoming manufacturing facility in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) on February 10. The event was attended by prominent partners, clients, and media representatives, showcasing the company’s integrated manufacturing operations for enterprise-level IT solutions within the region and highlighting its significant role in enhancing local technological production capabilities.
The company emphasized
Christopher Caswell, co-founder and CEO of Kerno, stated that their primary goals are to boost production capacity, increase market share in the region, and expand internationally from Dubai. “Our SMT production line enables us to manufacture up to 60,000 servers annually, with a second line ready to double this capacity. Over the next three years, we aim to achieve a market share exceeding 10% in our key markets while continuing to invest in infrastructure, competencies, and technology,” he added.
He further explained, “We combine global technical expertise with local manufacturing execution. While we leverage high global technical standards, all core manufacturing operations—including motherboard production and server assembly—are carried out at our Dubai facility using our SMT production line. We do not outsource manufacturing, ensuring complete control over quality, delivery timelines, and technical competitiveness.”
The facility features advanced manufacturing lines that include surface mount technology (SMT) systems, an automated assembly line for printed circuit boards (PCB), as well as ISO Class 7 clean rooms dedicated to microelectronics. Additionally, it utilizes sophisticated monitoring systems, achieving positioning accuracy of up to 15 micrometers per SMT component and incorporating 3D optical and X-ray inspection systems for PCBs, allowing for a productivity rate of up to 180,000 precision electronic components per hour.
Kerno’s operations are supported by research and development teams based in the UAE, local intellectual property ownership, specialized engineering teams, and a globally diverse supply chain with local customer support. The facility has been specifically designed to minimize lead times while ensuring compliance with the highest standards for enterprises and data centers.
Kerno’s technology platforms include enterprise-grade AI servers designed for training and inference, built on the latest high-performance GPU technologies from major semiconductor manufacturers. The product range includes AI systems powered by NVIDIA and AMD processors, integrated x86 servers, as well as data storage, analytics, and enterprise platforms tailored to the demands of data centers and mission-critical environments.
The event marked the official launch of Kerno’s enterprise technology manufacturing operations, reflecting the UAE’s ongoing commitment to investing in local digital infrastructure and strengthening the advanced technology production sector.
The event not only showcased production capabilities but also highlighted Kerno’s strategic role in reducing lead times, localizing intellectual property, and enabling secure enterprise-level technology manufacturing within the UAE—capabilities that have previously not been widely available in the local market.
The tour included a comprehensive walkthrough led by Kerno’s research and development and engineering teams, providing a thorough overview of the manufacturing process from start to finish. It began with the SMT and through-hole technology (THT) areas, moving through the server room and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units, covering the testing, customized solution manufacturing, and assembly stages, and concluding with quality assurance and the shipping dock.
Christopher Caswell remarked, “This facility demonstrates that enterprise technology manufacturing can be designed, built, and scaled in the UAE to meet the highest global standards for critical needs and applications.” He added, “This tour showcases the local capabilities we’ve developed, from research and development and engineering to end-to-end technology manufacturing within the country.”
Jean Ostrovski, co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer at Kerno, stated, “Kerno’s mission goes beyond localization.” He continued, “By contributing to technological sovereignty in the UAE, we are forging long-term business and technical partnerships with leading global innovators, laying the groundwork for a sustainable and advanced billion-dollar manufacturing sector in the region.”
Furthermore, Tero Mariamaki, Kerno’s Chief Technology Officer, emphasized that the engineering framework of the facility has been designed to the highest global standards, ensuring scalability, high performance, and reliability necessary to meet the demands of data centers and critical environments. Anna Serebryanikova, co-founder and Chief Operations Officer at Kerno, noted that the new facility represents a major advancement in manufacturing efficiency, reducing lead times, and ensuring compliance with the highest quality standards across enterprises.
