Dubai Customs Launches the “Executive Leadership” Program within Track 33

The Dubai Customs has initiated the “Executive Leadership” program as the second phase of “Path 33,” which encompasses a comprehensive array of leadership initiatives aimed at preparing and empowering the second and third tiers of executives. This initiative seeks to enhance their capabilities to adapt to the rapid transformations in the global customs sector, thereby supporting Dubai’s economic agenda (D33) and solidifying its position as a leading global economic hub over the next decade.

The launch event featured a dedicated session discussing the book “What Life Taught Me” by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aimed at drawing inspiration from his vision and thought. This session emphasized the leadership lessons and principles that have formed the foundation of the Emirati leadership model, fostering a conscious leadership culture that can create impact and sustain institutional excellence.

This program reflects Dubai Customs’ commitment to investing in human capital by establishing an executive leadership framework that is competent and prepared to lead a smart, flexible, and integrated customs system. This initiative supports trade movement, enhances supply chain security, and fulfills Dubai’s objectives of becoming a global center for trade and logistics, in collaboration with global academic partners and adhering to international best practices.

The “Executive Leadership” program emphasizes advanced methodologies in management and innovation, the development of strategic thinking and decision-making skills, as well as reinforcing a culture of institutional excellence. This is essential to improving performance efficiency, enhancing the resilience of the customs sector to adapt to global economic changes, and enabling national personnel to play a crucial role in achieving Dubai’s economic transformation goals.

Dr. Abdullah Boussnad, Director General of Dubai Customs, stated that the “Executive Leadership” program represents a strategic investment in people, as they are the primary drivers of institutional transformation and sustainable impact, supporting Dubai’s vision for leadership and sustainability.

He emphasized that developing executive leadership is a strategic necessity to bolster the readiness of the customs sector and support its crucial role in global trade. He noted that building national leadership contributes to enhancing Dubai’s competitive standing, aligning with the UAE’s ranking among the top ten countries globally in the Soft Power Index for 2026.
