Regulation of Commodities Trading in Ras Al Khaimah

The Department of Economic Development in Ras Al Khaimah has issued a directive regarding the regulation and control of essential goods in the markets. This initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard consumer rights, enhance market stability, and ensure the continuous availability of goods and services at normal levels within the emirate.

The directive is based on consumer protection laws and regulations overseeing economic activities, as well as a resolution from the Executive Council regarding the approval of a schedule for penalties and administrative sanctions. This aims to strengthen compliance frameworks and uphold principles of transparency and discipline in commercial practices.

Included in the directive are a series of rules and regulatory procedures that economic establishments must adhere to. These measures are designed to maintain market equilibrium and price stability while ensuring the adequate supply of essential goods, particularly food items, to meet community needs.
