Emirates Airlines Boosts Capacity with Addition of 60 Upgraded Aircraft for More Destinations

Emirates Airlines is set to enhance its services to Shanghai and Zurich by incorporating more Boeing 777 and updated Airbus A380 aircraft into its fleet. Additionally, there will be an increase in flights to Milan, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires, along with an improvement in service levels to Shanghai and Singapore by operating the Airbus A380.

This latest expansion in the operational schedule and increased capacity reflects the rising demand for the airline’s destinations, providing more travelers with the chance to experience Emirates’ unique offerings, particularly the highly praised premium economy class.

The comprehensive aircraft update program, which covers every aspect of the planes from the nose to the tail, has shown remarkable progress, with one aircraft being updated every three weeks. Since the program began in November 2022, Emirates’ engineering teams have successfully upgraded 60 aircraft.

The new flight schedule and aircraft enhancements include:

· A third daily flight to Milan, designated as flight EK 101/102, utilizing the Boeing 777-300ER starting from October 26.

· The upgrade of flight EK 247/248 on the Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires route to a daily service effective October 26.

· The Shanghai route will feature the updated Boeing 777 starting July 20, with flight EK 302/303 being upgraded to the Airbus A380, and a second daily flight to the city, EK 304/305, operating with an updated Boeing 777 from October 26.

· A third daily flight, EK 314/315, between Dubai and Singapore will commence on October 26, using the Airbus A380.

Emirates also plans to launch a second daily service to Zurich, flights EK 85/86, beginning February 1, 2026, using the Airbus A380 to replace the currently operating updated Boeing 777. The updated Airbus A380 will also serve flight EK 87/88 starting February 1, 2026, featuring premium economy class.

Despite the evolving operational landscape in the Middle East over the past weeks, Emirates’ network has continued to function normally, and the airline is ramping up operations to meet the growing demand during the current summer season and the upcoming winter period.

Customers can look forward to experiencing Emirates’ latest innovations aboard the updated Boeing 777 and Airbus A380, with enhanced experiences across all travel classes. The four-class Boeing 777 features 6 or 8 first-class suites, 38 or 40 business class seats, 24 premium economy seats, and 256 economy class seats.

The updated Airbus A380, also configured in four classes, features the premium economy cabin at the front of the main deck, offering 56 seats arranged in a 2-4-2 configuration. These seats provide ample space for sitting, working, and relaxing, along with dedicated amenities such as built-in charging points and beverages tables.
