Abu Dhabi Ports Launches Its First Office in China

Abu Dhabi Ports Group has officially launched its first international office in the People’s Republic of China, marking a significant step in its strategy to broaden its global presence.

The new international office has been established in the heart of Beijing, serving as the hub for policy and planning in China. This location will enable the group to manage the planning and coordination of its commercial and investment activities across China and the broader Asia region.

The inauguration ceremony was led by Samir Chaturvedi, CEO of Nautom Logistics and head of global operations for Abu Dhabi Ports Group; Abdul Aziz Zayed Al Shamsi, Regional CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group; and Eli Hu, General Manager of Nautom Logistics in Greater China.

This office will enhance direct communication channels with relevant governmental bodies, strategic partners, major clients, and investors. It will also assist the group in aligning its activities with China’s developmental priorities and swiftly responding to lucrative opportunities in trade and logistics.

Additionally, the office will serve as the commercial base for Nautom Logistics, the logistics arm of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, in the Beijing-Tianjin area, which is a significant local market with over 110 million residents.

The office will play a crucial role in strengthening the group’s presence within China and along China’s Belt and Road Initiative, which includes maritime routes connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe, as well as multimodal overland corridors linking the markets of China, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

Moreover, the group aims to utilize this office as a strategic platform to connect clients and potential investors with its comprehensive global business and logistics solutions, alongside coordinating investment activities, establishing new business projects, and facilitating the flow of Chinese capital into the United Arab Emirates.

On this occasion, Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, stated that China is the leading exporter and a key driver in enhancing supply chains. He underlined the group’s commitment to collaborating with China to realize more cross-border integration.

He clarified that with the new international office in Beijing, the group will work closely with Chinese partners to support the expansion of local, regional, and international trade corridors, delivering pioneering solutions in shipping, infrastructure, and logistics services. They aim to increase the volume of joint investments and create long-term value for clients, investors, and communities.

The group will seek to bolster the capabilities of Nautom Logistics within the country by offering a comprehensive range of integrated logistics solutions specifically designed to meet the demands of China’s rapidly growing market, which is projected to achieve an annual GDP growth rate of 3.5% through 2030. Given the anticipated 4.6% annual growth rate in China’s logistics market until 2030, the group is determined to reinforce its leading position in the logistics sector by supporting various industrial sectors across the supply chain.
