The General Civil Aviation Authority has announced the launch of the “FUS” system (Unified Central Flight Operations System), an innovative digital platform designed to streamline communication between aircraft operators—both local and foreign—and the relevant authorities in the aviation sector within the United Arab Emirates.
This system offers a centralized portal for obtaining operational approvals for airports across the UAE, providing access to essential information and connections with key organizations through a single website.
Digitizing Operations
According to Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, the Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority, “The launch of the FUS system marks a pivotal step towards the digitization of operations and enhancing the efficiency of services provided to aircraft operators. This initiative is part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to improve integration between federal and local entities, creating a more flexible aviation environment that responds to users’ needs.”
Facilitating Compliance
Engineer Aqeel Ahmed Al Zarooni, the Assistant Director General for Aviation Safety Affairs, stated that the FUS system represents a transformative change in our interaction with the aviation community. Our goal is to facilitate compliance, reduce processing times, and enable operators to easily access the latest regulatory updates through a user-friendly central platform.
The first phase of the system has been implemented, with future stages planned to include greater integration with partners and related entities, aligned with the authority’s vision for a comprehensive digital aviation environment.
This system exemplifies the General Civil Aviation Authority’s steadfast commitment to the initiative of reducing bureaucracy and enhancing efficiency through streamlined processes.
