Mohammad Saif Al-Afkhm, the Chairman of the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation, has confirmed that the organization is operating according to developmental plans that align with the vision of the leadership and the aspirations of Fujairah. He noted that the upcoming phase will place greater emphasis on supporting sustainable development projects and enhancing the corporation’s role in the mining sector, alongside improving proactive service systems and digital transformation, all aimed at increasing performance efficiency and meeting the needs of clients and partners.
This statement was made during the regular board meeting of the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation, where preparations for hosting the 10th Fujairah International Mining Conference from October 28 to 30, 2025 were reviewed, as well as the progress of sustainable development projects in the emirate.
Ali Qassem, the General Director of the corporation, affirmed that the preparations for the 10th International Mining Conference are complete, highlighting that the event will showcase Fujairah’s pioneering experience in the mining sector and provide an opportunity to explore new avenues for cooperation and investment.
The board also discussed significant achievements made by the corporation during the first half of this year, developments in digital transformation indicators, and improvements in institutional performance according to government excellence standards, in addition to enhancing the proactive services provided through the Customer Happiness Center.
Al-Afkhm mentioned that the second cycle of the Fujairah Award for Best Sustainable Mining Practices will accept applications from August 10 to October 10, 2025. This award aims to recognize efforts that enhance performance levels and utilize modern innovations and technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, in line with the UAE’s aspirations for a flexible and sustainable economic environment.
He added that this award is the first of its kind in the region and represents one of the innovative initiatives emerging from the 9th Fujairah International Mining Forum, which played a crucial role in shaping the future of the mining sector. The award serves as a national model for encouraging institutional excellence.
