Her Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, conducted an official visit to the Indian capital, New Delhi, yesterday. This visit aimed to strengthen the ongoing strategic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the friendly Republic of India, building upon previous high-level visits, including that of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, in September 2024, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister, in April 2025.
During her visit, she met with Vikram Misri, Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, in the presence of Dr. Abd Al-Nasir Al Shaali, UAE Ambassador to India.
The discussions focused on the outcomes of the fourth round of the strategic dialogue and the fifteenth session of the joint committee between the two nations, with efforts to translate these outcomes into practical cooperation programs across various sectors, including trade, investment, energy, defense, security, air transport, advanced technology, and culture.
Commitment
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing coordination and exchanging insights on key regional and international challenges and opportunities. They emphasized the importance of developing mechanisms for collaboration and joint action within multilateral frameworks to solidify the effective roles of both the UAE and India in promoting stability and sustainable development regionally and globally.
Her Excellency praised the rapid advancement in economic relations between the UAE and India, noting that the bilateral trade volume reached $100.05 billion during the 2024–2025 period.
She stated that this achievement reflects the resilience of the strategic partnership between the two sides and opens wider horizons for enhancing cooperation across various sectors.
