Emirates Global Aluminium, the largest industrial firm outside the oil and gas sector in the UAE, honored 50 of its innovative employees for their contributions to fostering innovation and ongoing development by presenting them with the annual “Rashid Award.”
The awards are given to employees whose ideas have enhanced operational efficiency through the company’s “Employee Suggestions” and “Excellence” programs. These initiatives focus on safety, environmental efforts, cost efficiency, and operational optimization, contributing to the company’s global competitiveness and long-term sustainability.
A Bright Future
Abdul Nasser Bin Kalban, the CEO of Emirates Global Aluminium, stated: “Innovation and continuous development have been vital to our company’s success over the years. Our achievements rely heavily on our employees transforming their ideas and suggestions into innovative solutions that foster daily improvements in our operations. I congratulate this year’s Rashid Award winners and thank my innovative colleagues for their vital contributions towards building a prosperous future for the company.”
Since its inception in 1981, the Employee Suggestions program has become one of the longest-running suggestion initiatives globally. Employees have submitted over half a million suggestions. More than 35,000 ideas have been proposed via the program since the last “Rashid Awards” in 2024, with over 30,000 being implemented. This initiative has helped reduce costs by AED 184 million last year and more than AED 520 million since its launch.
Excellence Program
Launched in 2016, the Excellence Program brings together mid-level managers and their teams to explore potential solutions through regular analysis of operations and their outcomes. In 2024, the program recorded audited savings exceeding AED 87 million.
Emirates Global Aluminium has consistently focused on innovation and ongoing development, encouraging its employees to share suggestions that contribute to the company’s growth. The company also oversees programs for school and engineering university students to develop future industrial innovation capabilities in the UAE.
