FlyDubai has launched its regular flights to Moldova’s capital, Chișinău, making it the first national carrier to offer direct services to this destination. The introduction of flights to Chișinău highlights the airline’s commitment to exploring new, underserved markets while expanding its European network.
Upon arrival, FlyDubai’s inaugural flight was welcomed at Chișinău International Airport with traditional water arches, marking a significant moment for the airline in the city. Key airport officials, led by Sergio Spoiala, the airport’s general director, were present to greet the flight.
Commenting on the start of operations, Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President for Commercial Operations and E-Commerce at FlyDubai, stated, “We are delighted to enhance our services to Europe with the introduction of two weekly flights to Chișinău. As our newest gateway to Europe, Moldova offers our customers greater options to discover previously under-served destinations. This reflects our dedication to facilitating trade and tourism while providing our travelers with a range of comfortable and diverse travel choices from the UAE and across our network.”
Meanwhile, Sergio Spoiala, General Director of Chișinău International Airport, expressed, “We are pleased to welcome FlyDubai to Chișinău International Airport. This partnership strengthens our role as a major gateway in the region and provides our travelers with broader connections to the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, fostering economic ties between Moldova and the UAE.”
As the capital of Moldova, Chișinău is an ideal destination for those looking to explore new places. The city boasts diverse architecture and significant landmarks, such as the Arc de Triomphe, and is home to beautiful parks, including Cathedral Park and Rose Valley Park.
The commencement of FlyDubai’s flights to Chișinău signifies the airline’s growing presence in Europe, with the first flights to Iași, its second destination in Romania, set to start on September 19. Vilnius in Lithuania and Riga in Latvia will also join the FlyDubai network in December.
