The United Arab Emirates has emerged as the leading market for Egyptian engineering exports in 2025, reflecting the ongoing growth of this vital sector in Egypt. This was announced by the Export Council for Engineering Industries, part of the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry, which reported a 12% increase in exports for the sector from January to August of this year, reaching $4.187 billion compared to $3.746 billion in the same period of 2024.
My Helmi, the executive director of the council, emphasized that there has been significant expansion in target markets, noting substantial increases in the volume of Egyptian exports to Europe, Asia, Africa, and America, in addition to Arab markets, with the UAE at the forefront.
Furthermore, Sherif El-Sayed, the chairman of the Export Council for Engineering Industries, stated that this growth demonstrates the sector’s ability to enhance its competitiveness in international markets, despite global challenges. He pointed out that the current levels represent the highest in the sector’s history over an eight-month period, supporting expectations of reaching $6 billion by the end of 2025.
