The Dubai Chamber, in partnership with the Canadian Consulate General in Dubai and Innovia Capital, organized a roundtable discussion featuring representatives from 19 Canadian companies.
The event aimed to showcase the competitive advantages of Dubai’s digital economy and the promising business opportunities available for Canadian companies across various sectors, particularly in advanced technologies.
Approximately 52 participants from the business communities in Canada and Dubai attended the event. The focus of the attending Canadian companies spanned a variety of sectors including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, satellite communications, quantum computing, and health technology.
In addition, discussions included research, data analytics, and venture capital. The talks explored potential collaborations with Canadian firms in diverse fields and examined opportunities to enhance business relations between Dubai and Canada, leveraging shared expertise across vital sectors to foster innovation, advanced technologies, and build robust partnerships between companies in Dubai and their Canadian counterparts.
Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, CEO of the Dubai Chamber, stated: “The growing economic ties between Dubai and Canada are fundamental for advancing bilateral cooperation in priority sectors, especially in the realms of the new economy and advanced technologies. Dubai continues to establish itself as an attractive global hub for Canadian companies looking to expand internationally, supported by its conducive business environment and advanced framework for innovation and entrepreneurship.”
In a sign of Dubai’s increasing appeal to Canadian investors and entrepreneurs, the number of active Canadian firms registered as members of the Dubai Chamber grew by 30% last year.
Furthermore, 535 new Canadian companies joined the Chamber during the first half of this year, bringing the total number of Canadian member companies to 4,434 by the end of June.
As a result, Canada ranked tenth among the non-UAE firms newly admitted to the Dubai Chamber during the first half of 2025.
To underscore its commitment to strengthening economic ties and expanding commercial and investment opportunities between Dubai and Canada, Dubai Global Chamber, one of the three chambers operating under the Dubai Chamber, opened a new representative office in Toronto, Canada, in June this year, marking its first in North America.
