Chinese “CSG” Establishes Smart Energy-Saving Glass Factory in Abu Dhabi

Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi – Kizad Group has announced that China Southern Glass (CSG), a leader in the production of energy-efficient glass and modern materials, is establishing its first intelligent manufacturing facility outside of China in Kizad.

The company plans to invest 300 million dirhams to build the factory in the Musaffah ICAD-1 area, which will create 400 skilled and technical job opportunities, supporting Abu Dhabi’s goal to boost industrial growth and diversify its economy.

Covering an area of 95,000 square meters, the factory will serve as CSG’s regional hub for high-performance and energy-efficient glass production.

The facility is expected to produce over 5 million square meters of coated, laminated, and insulated glass annually, catering to construction and infrastructure projects in the UAE, the Gulf region, Europe, Africa, and the United States.

Abdullah Al Hamli, CEO of Economic Cities and Free Zones at Abu Dhabi Ports Group, stated that CSG’s investment reflects growing confidence in Abu Dhabi’s industrial strategy and reinforces Kizad’s position as a regional center for advanced industries. He highlighted that the new factory will provide hundreds of jobs and localize high-quality glass manufacturing, thereby enhancing local production and reducing reliance on imports, solidifying the emirate’s role in global value chains.

He further noted that Kizad continues to strengthen its position as a preferred destination for leading sustainable companies looking to expand in Middle Eastern, African, and Asian markets. The establishment of CSG’s factory in Abu Dhabi represents a significant step forward in developing energy-efficient glass production and meeting the needs of the construction sector in line with the UAE’s focus on green buildings and clean energy.

Wenqing Wang, Vice President and CFO of CSG, remarked that Abu Dhabi is an ideal location for launching the group’s industrial endeavors in the Middle East. She pointed out that Kizad offers world-class infrastructure, advanced logistics services, and a strategically advantageous location close to key regional and global markets.

Wang added that CSG’s energy-efficient glass is widely used in some of the world’s most iconic landmarks. The new factory will feature fully automated production lines supported by advanced coating technologies, making it one of the top glass manufacturing facilities globally.

The new factory aims to supply high-quality energy-efficient glass products to the UAE and Gulf markets while bolstering local industry development in the long term.

This facility in Abu Dhabi will incorporate automated and intelligent production lines using the latest global coating technologies and is expected to commence operations by the end of 2026, supplying UAE developers with locally produced high-quality glass, thereby reducing the region’s dependence on imports.
