Dubai Chamber Hosts “Business Responsibility Forum” with 124 Participants Attending

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, organized a Business Responsibility Forum aimed at exploring ways to enhance corporate commitment to social responsibility, develop community support initiatives, and expand the positive impact of the private sector by showcasing best practices and experiences.

This forum is part of the “Sustainability 365” initiative organized by the Business Ethics Center of the Dubai Chamber, running from October 6 to 30. The event attracted 124 participants from various sectors.

The forum served as a dynamic platform for in-depth discussions and highlighted the initiatives of the Dubai Chamber, as well as its role in fostering institutional engagement to promote responsible business practices through the programs offered by the Business Ethics Center.

During the forum, there were panel discussions featuring speakers from DP World Foundation, Dubai Municipality, the Emirates Nature Association in collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund, and the Dubai Community Contribution Foundation.

A wide array of topics was discussed, covering health, culture, and global philanthropic efforts, all emphasizing the significance of organized strategic giving as an effective tool for positive societal impact. Discussions also addressed the necessity of collaboration between the public and private sectors to broaden meaningful initiatives worldwide, urging participants to adopt a comprehensive local approach that contributes to building interconnected communities.

The event included a series of sessions discussing the complementary role of social enterprises in supporting national efforts, as well as the importance of developing strategies that enhance inclusivity, volunteerism, and community participation. It also explored how institutions define the concept of “community” and the direct impact this definition has on their strategies and activities.

The forum created a constructive dialogue around enhancing effective cooperation among various sectors, focusing primarily on exploring communication mechanisms and outlining the essential elements needed to ensure successful partnerships. Discussions also addressed the need to develop new standards that surpass traditional indicators of community empowerment, valuing the long-term benefits of cross-sector collaboration, and identifying frameworks that ensure optimal integration between charitable contributions and community initiatives for sustainable impact.

For two decades, the Business Ethics Center of the Dubai Chamber has played a pivotal role in promoting responsible and sustainable practices in the emirate. The center is dedicated to supporting and encouraging companies to adopt social responsibility, enhancing their performance and competitiveness while elevating their community and environmental contributions. It offers a range of platforms, tools, and knowledge resources that assist businesses in embedding governance, sustainability, and social responsibility into their corporate practices.
